When to call the emergency line

Most calls outside working hours fall into a handful of situations:

  • You stepped out for a moment and the door swung shut behind you, with the keys still inside.
  • The key broke off in the cylinder, or it turns without catching anything.
  • You arrived late at a holiday let and the key from the lockbox will not turn.
  • After a break-in attempt the door no longer closes securely and you need it locked again tonight.

If it can safely wait until morning, we will say so. A daytime visit avoids any night surcharge, and you decide which suits you.

How a night call-out works

On the phone we ask three things: where you are (a WhatsApp location pin is easiest), what kind of door it is, and how it closed: just pulled shut, or locked with the key. Any night surcharge is mentioned on this call, not at the door.

At the door we first try to open it without damage, which often works on doors that were only pulled shut. If the cylinder is broken or the door was double-locked, we explain the options and the price, and wait for your yes.

Before opening we ask for ID and proof that you live or stay there: a lease, a utility bill, an e-Devlet residence document or your booking. If your papers are locked inside, we check them as soon as the door is open, and a word from your host, a neighbour or the security desk helps. If there is no way to confirm who you are, the door stays closed, however late it is.

In most cases, yes. Tell us when you call. We open the door and check your passport and booking or lease before we leave; a host, a neighbour or the security desk confirming who you are also helps.

What should I do while I wait?

Stay somewhere safe and keep your phone on. Do not force the door or keep twisting a stuck key: a key that snaps in the cylinder turns a simple lockout into a longer job. In a managed complex, let security know a locksmith is on the way.
